No obstante, Claro y Tigo tienen distintas versiones.

While Wom assures that they have not provided interconnection to the networks, the other two operators affirm that it was Wom who decided to initiate a conflict despite the fact that there were negotiating tables between the parties.

Controversies between the new mobile operator in Colombia, Wom, and other companies in the sector do not cease. On this occasion, Wom affirms that there are companies that are making it difficult to start operations in the country.

According to the company owned by the Novator group, it requested - according to the regulations - other operators to sign commercial agreements to achieve the necessary interconnection between the networks so that the users of the different companies can communicate with each other.

Account that obtained the interconnection contracts with Movistar, ETB and Avantel. "However, these voluntary agreements were not concluded with the operators Claro, Tigo and UNE, so there was a need to bring the controversy to the hands of the CRC (Communications Regulation Commission)."

According to José Fernando Bautista, vice president of Corporate and Legal Affairs at Wom, the situation is delaying plans to launch the services of this new operator from next January.

However, Claro and Tigo have different versions. According to the first, “Partners (which operates commercially as Wom) who got up from the negotiation table and decided that the authority would define the conditions and terms of the interconnection. When the authority made an initial decision on the matter, Partners, like Claro, filed appeals requesting that the decision be modified. Now the authority is studying the arguments of both operators regarding the initially adopted decision, ”he explained through a statement.
