Chrome, el navegador de Google se mantiene activo con constantes actualizaciones. Ya sea para pulir su interfaz o para cubrir los huecos de seguridad que ocasionalmente se encuentran. Pero ahora tomará una medida aún más drástica y comenzará a bloquear todo el contenido viejo de la web.
Es una noticia que pasó sutilmente inadvertida para muchos. Pero desde hace varios días ya Google publicó en el blog oficial del browser que tomaría medidas contra sitios de contenido mixto que no cuenten en su totalidad con HTTPS. Dejando de cargar los elementos que no cuenten con el estándar más seguro.
Esta clase de páginas, de contenido mixto, son aquellas que su dirección y home efectivamente cuentan con el HTTPS, pero las imágenes y documentos que cargan están sobre el cada vez menos querido HTTP.
Desde hace rato Chrome bloquea parte de este contenido o lo carga con vistas previas estáticas en baja resolución. Pero con Chrome 79, programada para lanzarse en diciembre de 2019, bloqueará gradualmente todo lo que no esté bajo HTTPS.
Entre la versión 79 y la 81 se irán agregando opciones de configuración relativas para mostrar el contenido cada vez en menor medida. Hasta bloquearlo por completo sobre febrero 2020.
La razón de Google para hacer esto es simple, ya que el protocolo HTTP puede amenazar la privacidad de los usuarios y la seguridad de sus datos.
Todo mediante la inyección de código en imágenes, gráficos y videos con los que incluso se podría rastrear la actividad de navegación de las víctimas.
