Netflix no es la excepción, y a pesar de no anunciar programas en formato podcast, si quiere probar una función donde las series y películas disponibles en su plataforma tengan un modo de solo audio que le permita al usuario consumir ese contenido en segundo plano.
El éxito del podcast es que puede ser consumido mientras se realizan otras tareas, y es ahí donde apunta la compañía estadounidense que se encuentra estudiando esta alternativa.

Entre las ventajas que ofrecería esta nueva función se encuentra el ahorro de batería y de datos consumidos ya que al activarse la opción, la pantalla de transmisión puede estar apagada.
El sitio xda-developers señala que esta novedad viene en la versión 7.79.1 de la aplicación móvil de Netflix. "Como suele ocurrir con las características de desarrollo, no está claro cuándo, si es que alguna vez, Netflix planea implementar esta funcionalidad de audio de fondo para todos los usuarios", advierte.
Netflix ya tiene una función que puede convertir su contenido en especie de audiolibro cuando se activa el "Audio descriptivo", esto se debe a que la narración incluye todas las acciones físicas, las expresiones faciales, el vestuario, las ambientaciones y los cambios de escena.
